Azrael is book alias used by multiple fanciful characters appearing in American humorous books published by DC Comics. The original version, Jean-Paul Valley, was created by Denny O'Neil, Joe Quesada, and Peter Milligan, and debuted in Batman: Arms of Azrael #1 (October ).
The second character to accept the alias was Michael General Lane, in Azrael: Death's Unlit Knight #1 (May ).
